The 2008 Africa Cup of Nations kicks off from January 20 to February 10, 2008. The 26th edition is sponsored by MTN is hosted in Ghana. Ghana won the rights to host this year's event after defeating Libya 9-3 in a vote among Confederation of African Football (CAF) executive committee members in Cairo.

Sixteen teams have been grouped into four pots.

- Pot 4: Angola, Benin, Namibia, Sudan
