3.1.1 Confirmation before installing the fuel injection pump

When installing, pay attention not to install the drive coupling in the wrong position. When 180 ° reverse loading, the fuel injection timing cannot be adjusted.

(1) Rotate the crankshaft of Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine, crank to No.1 compression top dead center when the right injection pump is installed, and crank to No.7 compression top dead center when the left injection pump is installed.

(2) Disassemble the driver coupling and the laminated plate on the drive shaft coupling side temporarily installed in the fuel injection pump, and install and connect a half moon key to the driver shaft. At this time, the drive-side coupling is inserted as far as possible into the drive housing side, and the mounting bolts are in a loose state.

(3) Align the mark “0” on the flywheel of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine fuel injection pump and the pointer position with the pointer. (No. 1, 7 cylinder injection start position)

Note: When installing, pay attention not to install the drive coupling in the wrong direction.

3.1.2 Installing Mitsubishi R16 Diesel Engine Fuel Injection Pump

(a) On the fuel injection pump mounting surface of the right fuel injection pump base, insert and remove a new gasket of the same thickness (t = 0.25 mm). (No gasket on left injection pump seat)

(b) The connecting bolts (long) of the drive coupling and the laminated board are tightened to the specified torque, and once they are loosened, they are tightened again with the specified torque. (2 tightenings)

(c) If the mating surfaces of the drive coupling and the laminated board are embedded, they may cause slippage or damage, and the bolts, bushes and washers should be cleaned before use.

(d) After the couplings are tightened, if the laminated plate is twisted or deformed, it should be tightened again.

(1) On the injection pump mounting surface of the right injection pump seat, insert and remove a new gasket of the same thickness (t = 0.25 mm).

Note: No gasket is used for the left pump seat.

(2) Lift the fuel injection pump of Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine. Slowly suspend the fuel injection pump of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine, align it with the positioning pin of the pump seat, and install it.

Note: When installing the bolts, make sure that the gasket is inserted correctly.

(3) Connect the laminated board and driver coupling and temporarily fix them with bolts. At this time, it is confirmed that the mark "0" of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine fuel injection pump Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine fuel injection pump at the top dead center position of No. 1, 7 compression is near the pointer.

Note: When installing the connecting bolts of each coupling, be careful not to forget to install the bushings and washers and pay attention to the installation direction.

(4) Adjust the gap between the drive coupling and the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine flywheel to the standard value. For the adjustment method, please refer to the "Mitsubishi R16 Diesel Engine Fuel System" item "Adjustment of the gap between the fuel pump and Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine flywheel and drive shaft coupling".

(5) All bolts and nuts temporarily tightened by each coupling are tightened in accordance with the specified tightening.

(6) Check the clearance of each coupling and the bolt tightening status of each part again.

(7) Install the bracket between the injection pump casing and the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine.

(8) Replenish Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine lubricant from the mounting hole of the Mitsubishi S16 diesel engine lubricant pipe in the cam chamber.

(9) Install Mitsubishi S16 diesel oil pipe and fuel pipe.

3.1.3 Gap Adjustment of Fuel Pump Mitsubishi R16 Diesel Engine Flywheel and Drive Coupling

Use the fuel injection pump coupling plug gauge to set the gap between the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine flywheel and the coupling.

(1) Insert the GO side of the plug gauge into the gap, and set the gap size between the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine flywheel and the coupling.

(2) Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

(3) Confirm that the NO GO side of the plug gauge cannot be inserted, and then insert the GO side again to confirm. In this state, the gap between the fuel pump Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine flywheel and the drive coupling is used as the set value.

(4) When the plug gauge can not reach the above state, loosen the bolt and reset the gap.

3.2 Installing Fuel Control Mitsubishi R16 Diesel Engine Connecting Rod

3.2.1 Installing the control axis

Poor assembly of the bearings at both ends of the control shaft or improper bearing rotation can cause machine failure such as chatter.

Install the control shaft

(1) Insert the tube with O-ring into the timing gear box of Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine.

(2) Insert the control shaft into the tube.

(3) Install the bearing end cover after pressing both ends of the control shaft into the bearing.

(4) Use a plastic soft hammer to swap the left and right sides of the control shaft to make it move smoothly.

(5) Turn the control lever by hand to confirm that the rotation is normal.

3.2.2 Installation and Control of Mitsubishi R16 Diesel Engine Connecting Rod Handle

(1) The two-cylinder side Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod shank (engraved L, R) is mounted on the seat together with the ball bearing, snap ring and end plate.

(2) The Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod shank is equipped with a serrated hole on the right end of the control shaft.

(3) At the left end of the control shaft, together with the ball bearing, snap ring, and end plate, install the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod handle connected to the governor actuator.

(4) When the angle scale of the output shaft of the governor of the governor is "0" (fuel reduction side), the governor handle is placed at a predetermined position and connected to the sawtooth hole.

3.2.3 Fuel control installation and adjustment of Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod

When the clearance of the fuel injection pump of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine is too large, the governor may not be able to cut off the fuel supply when the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine is stopped, causing the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine to overspeed.

(1) The Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod A (the same for the left and right cylinders) between the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine fuel injection pump rack and the rack control handle is adjusted to 65 ± 0.7 mm and installed on the left and right cylinder sides.

(2) On the right cylinder side, a fixed-length (239 mm) control Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod B-1 is used to connect the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod handle and the shaft control shaft.

(3) Adjust the length of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod B-2 on the left cylinder side with an adjustable length to 239 mm for temporary locking, and connect it with a stopper with a sawtooth hole. Confirm that the rack of the fuel injection pump of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine on the two cylinder side is at the "0" position, and the throttle handle is connected to the serrated hole of the control shaft together with the sleeve and the return spring.

Note: The counter-screwing part is tightened evenly from left to right.

(4) Fine adjustment of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod C by adjusting the adjustable length on the left cylinder side to make the rack movement amount of the fuel injection pump of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine on both cylinder sides the same.

(5) An adjustable-length control Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod is installed between the control shaft handle and the governor handle. When the angle scale of the governor output shaft is "0" (no fuel injection position), make a fine adjustment so that the distance from the end of the fuel injection pump to the front end of the rack is 67 mm.

Note: Each adjustable length of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod's counter-rotation thread is tightened equally on the left and right, and the screw tightening amount is more than 8 mm.

(6) When the stop lever is pulled to the end of the stop (rack "0"), confirm that the distance between the fuel injection pump and the front end of the rack is 65 mm, and the clearance is 2 mm.

Install the stop bolts on the board.

When the angle scale of the output shaft of the governor of the governor is "0" (non-injection position), screw in the stop bolt until the upper surface of the governor handle contacts and lock.

3.3.1 Mitsubishi S16 diesel engine stop solenoid

RUN-OFF type:

The Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine does not operate (OFF) when it is running, and the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine stops when it operates (ON).

RUN-ON type:

The Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine operates (ON) when it is running, and stops when the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine is not (OFF).

3.3.2 Starting rack limit solenoid

RUN-OFF type:

The Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine does not operate (OFF) when it starts, and releases the restriction (ON) during normal operation.

RUN-ON type:

Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine operates (ON) when starting, and does not operate (OFF) during normal operation.

3.3.3 Adjustment of Mitsubishi S16 Diesel Shutdown Solenoid (RUN ON)

(1) Turn off the Mitsubishi S16 diesel engine solenoid (Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine is stopped).

(2) Adjust the installation position of the Mitsubishi S16 diesel engine stop solenoid through the long bolt hole of the seat plate so that the gap between the follower and the connector is 0 mm (contact).

Note: When the governor actuator power is OFF, the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine fuel injection pump rack is in a non-injection position (Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine is stopped). 3.3.4 Adjustment of Mitsubishi S16 Diesel Engine Stopper Solenoid (RUN OFF)

Note: (a) When the Mitsubishi S16 diesel engine's stop solenoid is ON, maintain a gap of about 3 mm so that the control rack does not move until it reaches the "0" position. (b) Adjustable length controls the reverse rotation of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod.

3.3.5 Adjustment of Mitsubishi S16 Diesel Stopper Solenoid (RUN ON) and Starting Rack Limit Electromagnet (RUN OFF)

(1) Turn off the Mitsubishi S16 diesel engine solenoid (Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine is stopped).

(2) Adjust the installation position of the Mitsubishi S16 diesel engine stop solenoid through the long bolt hole of the seat plate so that the gap between the follower and the connector is 0 mm (contact).

Note: When the governor actuator power is OFF, the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine fuel injection pump rack is in a non-injection position (Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine is stopped). At this time, the distance from the end face of the fuel injection pump of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine to the front end of the rack of the fuel injection pump of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine is 68 ± 0.5 mm.

(3) Pull the rack to limit the electromagnet with the pull, and turn it on (Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine starting state). Adjust the adjustable length to control the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod so that the distance from the end of the fuel injection pump of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine to the front end of the control rack is 81 mm, and the rod is in contact with the follower.

3.3.6 Adjustment of Mitsubishi S16 Diesel Stop Electromagnet (RUN OFF) and Starting Rack Limit Electromagnet (RUN ON)

(1) Pull Mitsubishi S16 diesel engine stop solenoid by hand to make it ON (Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine stops).

(2) Adjust the adjustable length to control the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine connecting rod so that the gap between the follower and the rod is 0 mm (contact).

Note: When the power supply of the governor actuator is OFF, the fuel injection pump of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine is in the non-injection position (the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine is stopped). At this time, the distance between the end face of the fuel injection pump of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine and the front end of the rack of the fuel injection pump of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine is 68 ± 0.5 mm.

(3) Turn off the starting rack limit solenoid (Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine starting state).

(4) Adjust the mounting position of the starting rack limit electromagnet through the long bolt hole of the seat plate, so that the distance from the end of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine fuel injection pump to the front end of the control rack is 81 mm, and the connector is in contact with the follower.

3.3.7 Checking the operation of the solenoid

Check the operation of each electromagnet and the position of the fuel injection pump rack when the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine is started, during operation, or during emergency stop.

Mitsubishi S16 Diesel Shutdown Solenoid

Note: (a) Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine may not stop when the fuel rack front end of the fuel injection pump of Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine is more than 68.5 mm (3.5 mm clearance to the rack 0 position). (b) When the distance between the front end of the Mitsubishi R16 diesel engine fuel injection pump rack is 65mm (the rack is in contact with the stopper), the stopper may be damaged, and an appropriate clearance (2 to 3 mm) shall be ensured.
