Note: If applicable, block the filter with a clean-side blocking plug before assembly, and pre-charge the clean fuel to the new filters on the pressure and suction side. Do not pour fuel directly into the center of the filter as this will allow unfiltered fuel to enter the system and cause damage to fuel system components.
Lubricate the fuel filter O-ring with clean engine oil.
Tightening the filter too tightly can cause deformation of the threads, damage to the filter element seal or filter canister.

When installing the injector, do not damage the injector end.
Note: If the fuel injector transportation cover is not used when installing the fuel injector, care must be taken not to apply pressure to the wire terminals. If you use a wire terminal to push the injector, the terminal may break.
When installing Cummins ISF3.8 CM2220 engine injectors, replacement copper gaskets must be used.
Verify that the thickness of the gasket of the new Cummins ISF3.8 CM2220 engine injector is correct.

Align the injectors in the cylinder head in the correct direction (with the fuel inlet facing the high-pressure fuel connection).

Install the Cummins ISF3.8 CM2220 engine injector compression screw. At this time, only tighten by hand, do not tighten more than this.
Repeat this step to loosely install the other three injectors.
Install the rocker chamber cover without seals. Tighten one mounting screw on each side of the cover.
Connect the injector end of one of the Cummins ISF3.8 CM2220 high-pressure fuel pipes to the injector. Using the nut on the end of the injector as a reference, place the injector in the center of the seal.
Remove the high-pressure fuel pipe from the injector and repeat this step for all 4 injectors.
Remove the rocker chamber cover. Refer to step 003-011 in Section 3.
Note: Turn each screw 90 degrees each time until it all reaches the final torque value.
