1. Repair of Cummins diesel gear oil pump main shaft and bushing after wear
Due to the weight of the main gear of the oil pump and the radial thrust generated when the passive gear meshes, it is easy to cause eccentric wear of the shaft and the bushing hole, and the gap is increased. Therefore, the oil will leak due to the increase of the gap during work, and the oil supply will decrease.
After the main shaft and the bush are worn, the journal or bushing can be used to restore the fit clearance. When the journal wear is slight, it is only necessary to press out the old bushing and replace it with a new bushing, and the shaft is generally not repaired, so that the fit clearance can be restored to the allowable range. When the shaft and the bush are very worn, and the mating clearance increases greatly, not only the bushing must be replaced, but the shaft should also be chrome-plated or vibration surfacing to increase the diameter, and then ground to the standard size to restore the journal and Matching requirements of bushings.
2. Repair of pump casing inner cavity and gear teeth after wear
After the inner cavity of the pump casing and the gear teeth are worn, it has a great impact on the amount of pump oil. When the shaft and the bushing or the shaft hole are severely worn, the tooth top and the surface of the inner cavity of the pump housing will have an undesired contact during work. Because the pressure of the oil outlet cavity is higher than the pressure of the oil inlet cavity, under the pressure difference, the top of the tooth contacts the oil inlet cavity of the pump casing more. Therefore, the inner cavity of the pump casing wears more here, which makes the inner cavity and the teeth The top gap increases. As a result, the pressure difference between the oil pump inlet and outlet chambers is reduced, the gear tooth scraping and oil pressure reduction is reduced, the oil supply pressure is reduced, and the pump oil volume is reduced. The wear of the inner cavity of the pump casing is generally repaired by the inner cavity insert method.
Secondly, due to the wear of the gear teeth in the tooth thickness direction, the meshing gap between the main and passive gears is increased. Its wear feature is heavy unilateral wear, so it can be used by turning the gear 180 degrees.
3. Repair after the wear of gear end face and pump cover
There is a certain gap between the end face of the gear and the inner plane of the pump cover, which is called the end face gap. The wear of the contact surface between the gear end face and the inner surface of the pump cover during work will increase the gap between the end faces. When the limit is exceeded, it will have a significant impact on the amount of pump oil.
When the end face of the gear is worn, the end face can be ground and the disintegrated surface of the oil pump casing can be ground at the same time to ensure that the end face clearance of the pump is within the required range.
The main components of the lubrication system
1. Oil pump: Gear pumps are used on Cummins engines to provide pressure to the lubrication system
The N engine oil pump is installed at the front end of the body of the PT pump. It is a single-stage gear pump equipped with a high-pressure bypass valve. The oil pump is driven by the engine transmission gear train.
The K6 and M11 engine oil pumps are installed in the gear room at the front of the body. The K6 oil pump is equipped with a pressure regulating valve and is driven by the engine transmission gear train.
The KV engine oil pump is installed in the oil pan at the lower part of the body, and is a two-pole gear pump driven by a ring gear embedded in the rear section of the crankshaft.
